014: Porg Tacos - A Discussion of LAST JEDI criticisms

January 17, 2018

The latest Star Wars movie, THE LAST JEDI, wowed critics and has made a ton of money. But it's also been heavily criticized by a host of diehard fans who don't like the portrayal of Luke Skywalker, the pace of the film, and more. In our lastest episode, I'm joined by co-host Alan Seawright and new guest Ryan Crocker to discuss these criticisms. Are they valid? How good of a movie is THE LAST JEDI and where does it fit in Star Wars franchise history? We break it down in a spoiler-filled exploration of most of the common gripes about the movie.

012: LEGO art with artist Jen Raine Smart

December 5, 2017

We all played with LEGO as kids, and heck, probably as an adult. But few of us use it as art or turn it into a business. At Salt Lake Comic Con, I met Jen Raine Smart, a lego artist. I was intrigued by a life-size Wonder Woman she made for the con. Jen got her start with murals, then progressed to 3-D statues. We talk about how she got started, how she picks her subjects, and what’s next in her progression as an artist.
